Every now and then, this page will list the starter recipes or other parameters of the challenges from which you are to create a new recipe for submission to The CC Palate!

When you have the recipe ready, send it to me giving all the details of what you did - a pic is best if at all possible. Send your entry to

The Chefery Challenges!

Challenge #3 Your challenge is to start with this recipe for baking powder biscuits and apply the ratio method of baking to make it better for you and still make a wonderful biscuit.

Here's the ratio: for each 9 oz of flour, use 3 oz of fat, and 6 oz of liquid

Challenge #2.5 Your challenge is to pick the city of your favorite football or futbol team and create a recipe that is would be considered a local specialty of the city - put your own spin on it so that it can be served at a party as either a main dish or as an appetizer.

Challenge #2. Create a recipe using the following two ingredients and no more than 10 other ingredients - yes, count the seasonings. I will give you a free dose of salt and pepper, but count the rest. Special kudos to anyone that makes a recipe using 9 ingredients or less that include the Main Ingredients! And now, I present to you, your Main Ingredients:

Challenge #1. Chilled Avocado Soup - How many incarnations of Avocado Soup can the awesome members of CC Palate create?!

Starter Recipe:

2 ripe avocados
1 cucumber
3/4 cup low fat soy milk
2 T cilantro
2 green onions
2 cups veggie broth
salt & pepper to taste
1 T lemon juice

chop, blend, and chill
